Pakistan Celebrates 70th independence day with patriotism

KARACHI: Pakistan praises its 70th Independence Day with commemorative ceremonies across the country, vowing to shield the nation against any dangers and make it a genuine Islamic welfare state as imagined by the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

The day started with unique supplications for the advance and success of the nation and a 31-gun salute in the government capital and 21-gun salute in every province capital.

The main event of flag hoisting function was held at Islamabad’s Convention Center. The function started with President Mamnoon Hussain lifting the national banner.

Head administrator Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Jawed Bajwa, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah, Speaker National Assembly, Chairman of the Senate, ambassadors and civil servants went to the function.
