Tuesday afternoon (UTC-6.00) a 7.1 magnitude earthquake hits Mexico city. At least  149 people killed and many people are injured or tapped in collapsed buidlings. – Geological Survey (USGS) said

Number of death from the earthquake has risen to 149 people nationwide.  30 people were killed in capital, reported by Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera .

According to Mexico State Gov. Alfredo del Mazo said that earthquake killed at least 9 people in his state, which borders to Mexico City. A quarry worker was killed from a rock slide due to the quake, and another died after being hit by a falling lamppost – Del Mazo further said.

 

At least another 55 were killed in the central Mexican state of Morelos, Luis Felipe Puente, head of the national Civil Defense agency reported Tuesday night on Twitter. Another 49 died in the capital, and Puebla state reported at least 32 deaths in the central Mexican state following the powerful earthquake.

USGS told press that the earthquake epicenter was near the town of Raboso, about 76 miles southeast of Mexico City.

Mexico City’s mayor further told that at 44 places building fell or collapsed to the ground in the capital alone, and that 50 to 60 people were rescued. 70 people who were in the capital were hospitalized, said Authorities.

President Donald trump is also concerned about recent earthquake and natural disasters in region. He prays for people and remind them he is with people.

Texas state, state who recently suffered greatly from Hurricane Harvey, said that Texas “will continue to offer any support to aid Mexico in their time of need.”

In a statement, the U.S. State Department said the U.S. stands “ready to provide assistance should our neighbors request our help.” It added that the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City is also ready to provide assistance to U.S. citizens who were possibly affected by the quake.

After earth quake, Mexico government and local administration people came in front and rescue and relief activities has started. Rescue and disaster management institutions are helping people in need.
